Founders Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer Apple Pay. Apple Pay is a convenient new way to pay that makes reaching for your wallet a thing of the past. With Apple Pay you can simplify the way you shop by adding your Founders Credit Cards and Visa Debit to the Passbook app on your compatible device. Now you can easily check out at many of your favorite retailers with just the touch of your finger using this mobile payment solution.

Simplified Shopping

  • By adding your card(s) to Passbook, there’s no need to reach for your wallet when making purchases in-store. Apple Pay also lets you make purchases quickly and easily within many of your favorite mobile apps that include the new feature.
  • You will still earn CURewards® points when you use select Founders Credit Cards. They are redeemable for cash, valuable travel awards, merchandise and gift certificates.
  • All transactions are monitored by the same security that protects your Founders Credit Cards and Visa Debit Card.

Secure and private transactions

Making payments with Apple Pay is easy. The entire transaction is secure, as your credit and debit card numbers aren't stored on the device or on Apple's server, so they're never shared with the merchant. And, if your iPhone is ever lost or stolen, just use the "Find My iPhone" feature.

Get started with Apple Pay

To add your Founders Credit Cards or Visa Debit Card, you'll need a compatible device with iOS 8.1 or later. Open the Passbook app, swipe down and tap the plus sign. Use your iSight camera to enter the card, or add it manually. 

If your Founders Credit Card or Visa Debit is already in iTunes, just key in the Security Code (the CVV code from the back of your card).

Be sure to make this card your default payment card for Apple Pay. Just go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay, tap on Default Card and select your Founders Credit Card or Visa Debit.

How to Use Apple Pay in Participating Stores:

1. Look for the Pay Wave or Apple Pay symbol at checkout and hold your phone near the contactless reader.
 


2. Place your finger on the Touch ID. Or, you may need to enter a passcode and sign a receipt.
 


3. Keep your phone by the reader until it vibrates and beeps, indicating your payment was accepted.
 
 

Please keep in mind:

  • Depending on the merchant and payment amount, you may be asked to sign.
  • For security, Apple Pay uses a Device Account Number, which is a unique number assigned to each card.
  • If the merchant requests the last 4 digits of your card number, please provide the last 4 digits of your Device Account Number, which can be found by selecting the "i" icon in Passbook in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

As an Android user, you can now pay with your phone at more than 1 million stores across the United States. Google Pay is a mobile payment solution offering Founders Visa Credit and Debit Cardholders the chance to breeze through the checkout lanes with virtually a wave of your phone.

How to Use Google Pay in Participating Stores:

How to Use Samsung Pay in Participating Stores:

1. When you're ready to check out, simply look for the contactless payments symbol or the magnetic stripe reader where you normally swipe your card.

2. To make an in-store payment, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen on your eligible device to activate Samsung Pay. The card you added or used most recently will be displayed first and you can easily swipe left or right to select a different card if desired.

3. When you are ready to make a payment, place your finger on the home key to verify your fingerprint or touch the ENTER PIN option to enter your Samsung Pay PIN.

4. Next, simply hold your device over the NFC payment terminal or near the magnetic strip reader where you would typically swipe your card. A confirmation message on the payment terminal will let you know your purchase was successful.

Founders now offers the latest wearable payments, Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay! These wearables are contactless payment solutions designed for people who are always on the move, letting you make purchases easily with nothing needed but your watch.

Get Started!

To get started, download the latest versions of these wearable payment apps on your smartphone or tablet. If your Founders Credit or Debit Card is already linked to your wearable payment account, you can simply add it to the app by confirming a few details. Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay are available on specific watch models.

Setup Instructions:

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your phone and navigate to your Ionic settings.
  2. Tap Fitbit Wallet and follow the instructions to add your card.
  3. If you haven’t created a PIN code for your watch, you will be asked to set one.
  4. Enter your card details and billing information.
  5. Your card details will be sent securely to Founders for verification.
  6. You’ll be prompted to accept the Founders terms of service. (You may also be asked to complete further identity verification by Founders.)
  7. Once you’re done, Fitbit Pay will sync the activated card to your Ionic watch via Bluetooth.
  8. Follow the tutorial on your watch to learn how to use Fitbit Pay at checkout.

To pay with Ionic*:

  1. When you’re ready to pay, press and hold the left button on your watch for 2 seconds.
  2. If prompted, enter your 4-digit watch PIN code.
  3. After your card appears on the screen, hold your wrist near the payment terminal. When the payment is successful, your watch will vibrate and you’ll see a confirmation on the screen.

*Not all merchants accept Fitbit Pay.

Transaction History:

  1. To view your most recent Fitbit transactions, open your app and tap on the account icon.
  2. Tap your watch title.
  3. Tap your wallet title.
  4. Locate the card stored on your watch and scroll down to view your three most recent transactions. Note: View your Founders account statements to review all Fitbit transactions.

Setup Instructions:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect Mobile App and go to Garmin Devices.
  2. Select your device and tap Garmin Pay.
  3. Tap “Create Your Wallet” which will prompt you to create a 4-digit passcode to keep the digital wallet on your watch secure.
  4. Once you’ve created your wallet, add your card(s). You may be required to verify your identity. To add more than one card, go to Manage Your Wallet.

*Garmin Pay is available only on specific Garmin watch editions: Vivoactive 3 & 3 Music; Fenix 5 Plus, 5S Plus, & 5X Plus; Forerunner 645 & 645 Music.

How to Use:

  1. To make a payment, you can quickly access the wallet on your device by pressing and holding the action button to bring up the controls menu. Then, tap the wallet icon.
  2. Enter your passcode, select the right credit card from your virtual wallet.
  3. Hold your wrist near the card reader — that’s it. No need to fumble for your phone, cards or cash.
