Founders FCU Opens New In School Credit Union
Founders Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of the Gold Hill Middle School In School Credit Union Monday, September 16.
This branch is the 23rd credit union Founders has installed in schools, aimed at teaching students how to save by offering incentives for varying savings levels. "This marks our 4th middle school program and 2nd in the Fort Mill School district to open an In School Credit Union," says Brian Bass, Community Relations Coordinator for Founders. "It has been a huge success in elementary and middle schools throughout Founders communities and the kids love saving money and earning incentives."
The credit union will be open to students Monday and Thursday mornings from 7:50 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. and during lunch to deposit money and purchase school supplies from the school store.
By opening an account at the Gold Hill Middle School In School Credit Union, each student will automatically become a member of Founders Federal Credit Union.
"This is a great partnership between Founders and Fort Mill School District," said Bass. "Students learn such valuable life skills through saving money."
